Dees are beaten once more

Not for the first time this season, Dees fell behind in the early stages, as Olney took the lead with converted try after a well-executed drill.

Dunstablians quickly responded through Campbell Haig, as he collected a quickly-taken penalty to put down for a try.

However, the hosts had yet another converted score moments later as they extended their lead to 14-5.

Dunstablians were then reduced to 14 men when Aaron White was unfortunate to see a red card.

Olney crossed the line once more and added the extras, as they moved 21-5 in front.

Dees looked to reduce the deficit before half-time through Luke Ashton and Kevin Boland, but play eventually broke down.

They were awarded a penalty, although Boland missed his attempt.

At the break, Dunstablians brought on Nathan Dominique and Peter Thompson, only for Olney to move out of sight with two tries in quick succession.

Dees had a lifeline when Joshua Klymyszyn showed great initiative to take a quick tap-penalty and dive forward, with Boland adding the extras.

Alex Ayres almost crossed the line after selling some clever dummies until he was stopped just short.

Olney eventually finished the game with another converted try, to end up clear winners.

Ashton was named man of the match, while Toby Mead, showed great determination and composure.

Dunstablians are back at Bidwell Park next weekend, as they host Peterborough.
