The visitors faced an uphill task before the game had begun as they needed to win and hope other results went their way.

However, despite a strong start, that never materialised, and they are now expected to drop down to Midlands Three East South next term.

With only five wins
all season and no away
triumph since since September 27, Dees maintained a high attacking line early on, which restricted Peterborough to their own half.

The hosts soon managed to escape, though, using quick offloading and fast running to go over for the first converted try and lead 7-0.

Dees continued to apply relentless pressure, which resulted in Aaron White scoring their only points of the afternoon.

A line out deep in the opposition half saw Dunstablians utilise the catch-and-drive routine and, as the forwards drove towards the line, White broke away from the pack to touch down.

Peterborough then managed to add another try before half-time, which came after some sloppy defending by Dees.

The conversion was missed, meaning Peterborough established a 12-5 lead at the break.

Things went from bad to worse for Dave Marshall’s side in the second period as the home side ran away with the lead.

They added three converted tries as Dees found it hard to deal with the swift attacking play and dogged defensive work.

The Bidwell Boys struggled to find their second wind, which helped Peterborough on their way to a comfortable 33-5 win.

Dunstablians have one match left of the season, as they host second from bottom Stewart & Lloyds on Saturday, April 11.
