Dees boosted by 50k grant

Dees have been awarded 50,000 of Olympic legacy funding

Dees have been awarded 50,000 of Olympic legacy funding

DUNSTABLIANS have been handed £50,000 of Olympic legacy funding from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund to help upgrade their clubhouse at Bidwell Park.

The upgrade will entail an extension to the existing clubhouse to incorporate a shop, medical/physio treatment room and to provide better and disabled persons’ access to the playing area. The kitchen will also be relocated and upgraded, a disabled toilet installed and the others improved.

Chairman Graham White said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment, which means we can upgrade the quality of our premises to match the quality of our playing facilities and coaching staff.

“It is the cornerstone of our strategy to have an outstanding club for the 2012 Olympics’ legacy.”

The award will provide £50,000 towards the total project cost of £97,000 and the club aims to raise the remainder from corporate sponsorship and other fundraising efforts by its members.”
