Luton RFC confirm Alston appointment

Luton RFC have confirmed that Paul Alston will be re-joining the club for the 2015-16 season as head coach.

Alston will take responsibility for Senior Rugby and seek to build upon the excellent work undertaken by Paul Allen, who has now left the club, and the coaching team over the past three seasons.

Alston was a distinguished player for Northampton Saints, Bedford Blues, Barbarians and Luton RFC.

This was later followed this with an equally successful period as a coach at Luton RFC, culminating in promotion to National League Three as it was then.

Speaking about the appointment, Alston said: “I have been away from senior rugby for three or four years, perhaps recharging my batteries, so I am excited about the prospect of returning to Luton RFC in order to push for a return to National League rugby.”

Meanwhile, Luton will start their pre-season friendlies with a trip to Derby on Saturday, August 15, kick-off at 2.30pm.
