Meanwhile, both Ben Griffin who made an important impact when he came on, and Jack Brookes were stopped just short of the try-line by some excellent home defence.

The playing conditions were tricky, with wind and rain at the start, as neither team were helped by some erratic refereeing too.

BBOB took an early lead with a well worked try, but a penalty from Jason Carr saw Park turn round 5-3 down and with the elements now in their favour.

In the second half, Park’s centres Martin Rowe and Paul Harman worked hard to break the visitors defence but Park did not play enough of their rugby in the home team’s half until the last quarter and ended with defeat.

This Saturday Park are at home to St Neots RFC and the game will be preceded by a lunch for over 100 former players.
