Knowing a win would be enough to secure second place, Park scored early on through scrum half Alex Lovell, before a tentative 20 minutes of play.

However, Stockwood then settled down, and on 25 minutes, influential full back Stephen Pollock, another former skipper, kicked a penalty.

Left wing Ieuan Beale and centre Martin Rowe, both a constant threat to the visitors, then crossed the line to put Park 18-0 in front at half time.

After the break, Park relaxed and settle into the fluent rugby which has been the increasing hallmark of their season, with some fine handling and off-loading skills.

The performance was a tribute to skipper Jamie Hoque and coach Stephen Morgan who have led the side for the last three seasons with great skill and dedication.

Further tries were added by fly half James Hankey and Beale, his second of the afternoon, while Pollock kicked a conversion and a penalty to secure Park victory, promotion and a long evening of celebration.

Although this performance was once again a great team effort, Park’s former skipper and flank forward, Michael Powell was outstanding, named MOM due a dominant display.

Park will be playing in Midlands Two East South next season now, while this weekend they host Dunstablians in the Bedfordshire Senior Cup Final. Kick-off is at 3pm and a large crowd is expected for this local derby which is a repeat of last year’s final.
