Town duo praised by Castle

St Albans City manager Steve Castle has lavished more praise on Luton Town duo Jonathan O'Donnell and Godfrey Poku after their loan deals at Clarence Park came to an end.

Town signed the duo on 18-month deals and immediately loaned them back to the Saints.

However, they are now back at Kenilworth Road and Castle is backing them to be a success once they are bedded in, although he admitted he would like to have O'Donnell back on loan next season.

He said: "O'Donnell has absolutely fantastic potential.

"Getting football on a regular basis was a big ask for him because he has a young frame.

"But we would like to have him back and I would think that would be next year if it happened. Godfrey has a man's body and he's looking to get into the first team for Luton so I don't think he'd want to come back. They have to get their feet under the table and get settled in.

They need to get their heads down and get on with their career."

Town boss Richard Money, though, said it was too early to be making any decisions for next season about O'Donnell and that he would want to see all of his players in pre-season before making any decisions.

He added: "We wouldn't do anything until after pre-season, that's for sure."
