Tornadoes sweep the board at awards night

LUTON teams practically swept the board at the recent Bedfordshire County Netball AGM, with Crawley Tornadoes Netball Club doing particularly well.

Phyllis Charles claimed the Long Service Award, while Crawley Tornadoes were named the Bedfordshire Outstanding Netball Club.

The Bedfordshire Teacher Award went to Stephen Rigby from St Joseph’s Primary School, with runner-up Sue Fenn from Icknield High School. Jo Currant from Crawley Tornadoes received the Bedfordshire Coach Award with club-mate Nasem Khan runner-up, while Bedfordshire Grassroots Coach Award went to Julie Kightley, also of the Crawley Tornadoes.
