Tough day at the office for our teams
Molten Spartan SML round-up
Our teams in Division One of the Molten Spartan SML endured a miserable weekend as all of them slipped to defeat on Saturday.
AFC Dunstable lost 3-0 at home to Hadley, with all of their goals coming in the second half, while Brache Sparta CFC lost by the same scoreline at Ampthill Town.
Crawley Green fared little better as they suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Sun Postal Sports, the visitors netting a goal in each half.
It was a costly defeat for Crawley who lost ground at the top of the table with a 2-0 defeat to their Watford rivals.
After dominating the opening half hour, in which Jermaine Hall twice went close, Sun Postal scored with their first real attack of the game.
Crawley conceded a needless free-kick and from the cross Chris McIntyre was left completely unmarked to head home after 29 minutes.
The Luton team started the second half brightly with Hall again going close.
However, Postals weathered the storm and Darren Turner doubled the lead after 54 minutes when he took advantage of a wayward pass from Ronan Deroses.
Crawley battled away for the remainder of the game but never really looked like reducing the arrears.
On Wednesday night Crawley entertain Ampthill Town and on Saturday they travel to Amersham Town.
Things were only slightly better in Division Two.
Kent Athletic slumped to a 5-1 defeat at MK Wanderers.
Goals before the break from Jordan Nash, Sam Parrish, Adam Parrish and Matthew Old put the home side completely in control and, although, Craig Hawkes pulled a goal back for Athletic on 54 minutes but Kelvin Budd's striker 12 minutes from time sealed victory for Wanderers.
Second half strikes from Ashley Beswick, Johnny Horne and Joel Read condemned Caddington to a 3-0 defeat at Risborough Rangers, but Totternhoe did at least manage to draw as they were held 3-3 at home by Bucks Students Union.
Phil Nugent (11 and 38) put the visitors two up, although an own goal from Alex Hesmer gave Caddington hope.
Tom Russell's 56th-minute penalty restored the Students' two-goal cushion, but Stefan Tracey hauled the South Beds side level with two goals on 61 and 78 minutes.
In Reserve Division One, AFC Dunstable beat Oxhey Jets 4-2 at home and Crawley Green also won, as they downed St Margaretsbury 3-2.
A Glen Freeman penalty and goals from Daniel Harris and Kaya Prospere secured the points for Crawley.
On Tuesday they travel to Kings Langley and on Saturday they entertain Langford.
Reserve Division Two saw Cranfield United thrash Totternhoe 7-0 and The 61 FC (Luton) battled to a 4-3 win against Kent Athletic.
And The 61 FC (Luton) progressed through to the last four of the Anagram Records Trophy with a 2-1 victory at Frenford Senior in the quarter-finals.
Gavin Tousaint gave the home side a seventh-minute lead, but an Alex Bennett (35 and 42) double saw the visitors home.
