Bedfordshire Mini Orange and Mini Green Individual Circuit finals culminate in Luton

Dunstable duo Alex Hildreth and Matthew Lousley were both finalists in their respective events at the Bedfordshire Mini Orange and Mini Green Individual Circuit finals on Saturday.

The event, held at Vauxhall Recreation Club, featured the cream of the county's top tennis youngsters, who had already previously battled it out in 13 events across Bedfordshire in order to gain a place at the finals.

Hildreth was a finalist in the girls' Orange event (U9s), although couldn't quite go all the way, with Elena Salmon taking the title after a marathon match with Riverside team-mate Caitlin Ashman.

In the boys' Green event (U10s), Lousley was one of the five finalists who competed, but it was Buckinghamshire's Michael Shaw, who won all four matches to become the circuit champion.

The events were sponsored by TRS Total Racket Sports, who also kindly provided the match balls, as well as medals and raffle prizes, with all proceeds being donated to Cancer Research.

TRS managing director Chris Sarti said: "It has been fantastic to see so many juniors competing at such a good level. The different colour grades and balls really help the juniors play the game of tennis on a court that is the appropriate size for them. We support mini tennis 100 per cent and hope to sponsor more events across the county."
