Walking activity with a difference at farm
If entertaining the kids is likely to get your goat this summer, then help is at hand.

Mead Open Farm is holding a new goat walking activity, starting on Tuesday (July 1) and running throughout the long school holiday.

Bringing a totally new dimension to the term "walkies", youngsters can get really close to the farm's playful goats and take them on a daily walk.

Matthew Heast, owner of Mead Open Farm, located at Billington, near Leighton Buzzard: "Goats are very sociable animals and love to meet our visitors. During training they have definitely enjoyed the extra fuss and attention. We have 20 goats taking part, all with their own names, mini collars and leads."

Goat Walking runs until August 31 and, like all other activities at the farm, it's included in the admission price.

Other activities include the Sheepdog Show, sheep racing, daily hands-on animal activities, the outdoor log play adventure and Shaggy's huge PlayWorld.

Visitors should call 01525 852954 for further information or visit www.meadopenfarm.co.uk.
