Watch demonstrations and taste Mediterranean olives

Check out contemporary and classic crafts in Wrest Park gardens, Silsoe, from August 23 to 25.

The 19th Craft And Design Festival will see artists and designers from all over the country exhibiting original work, including jewellery, stained glass, watercolours and textiles.

Visitors will be able to watch demonstrations of traditional and rural craft skills – including clog making and stick dressing.

And there will also be a chance to enjoy music from a string quartet, try your hand at archery and take part in a felt making workshop.

The food and drink village will allow guests to sample fruit cordials, Mediterranean olives and oils, farmhouse cheeses and speciality curries.

And a Saxon village will bring history to life in full authentic costume, with ancient and fascinating craft skills being demonstrated throughout the weekend.

The festival is open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, August 23, 24 and 25, from 10am until 5.30pm.

Admission costs £6.50 for adults, £5.50 for senior citizens and £4.50 for children. Children under five go free.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
