Sisters taking the lead in the market

First it was kids who needed looking after during the day at a crèche. Now, believe it or not, it's dogs.

Waggnbone is here – a day care doggy crèche. Never heard of one? Well, that's because there hasn't been one around, until now. In a nutshell, it is a purpose-built centre at Woodside Animal Farm especially adapted and equipped for dogs.

It's aimed at the families who want their pets to have the best there is to offer in love and care and in the most up to date surroundings you can possibly have.

Costing in excess of £25,000 to create, the idea originates from America (where else?) and has been brought to the village near Luton by sisters Karen and Sue Marsh, who recognised a gap in the market for taking care of other people's dogs during working day.

The facilities include chill-out areas where your pet can snooze and an enormous purpose-built play area with toys and dog agility equipment, decorated with murals of trees and bushes.

There's also a large outside play area, completely grassed and safely enclosed, where several times a day the dogs will run about under supervision, whatever the weather.

A local vet is always on hand just in case, and both Karen and Sue are trained doggy first aiders.

Today's Vote

Should worldwide tours of the Olympic flame be abandoned to stop giving protestors an easy target
Yes, it's a pointless stunt anyway and would not be missed
No, you can't give in to bully tactics from any quarter
Bring on more protests, they are more entertaining than the sport
