Team sets new record

A team at the Dunstable Downs visitor centre tasted sweet success after setting a new record - for making the world's biggest scone.

The giant scone, weighing 60kg and with a circumference of 89cm, was whipped up as part of the Dunstable Downs Food Festival.

Staff at the Chilterns Gateway Centre were delighted to have set a new Guinness World Record.

The festival was a week-long celebration of food and drink, and included a farmers' and craft market, a teddy bears' picnic, a cream tea dance, a multi-cultural event giving people a chance to try new tastes, a history and food event and a summer fair.

And local bands performed on the Downs for a BBC Introducing event, broadcast live on BBC Three Counties Radio.
