Dorothy’s off to see
the wizard...

If the snow, ice, and freezing temperatures in Luton and Dunstable are getting you down, why don’t you let the Griffin Players whisk you away to the Land of Oz?

You’d be forgiven for thinking things were a little upside-down in the Griffin’s version of ‘Oz’, with flamboyant characters including scarecrow, lion and tin man who are nothing like you’ve ever seen before.

Friends of Dorothy tells the story of Dorothy, played by Jenna Ryder-Oliver, who is frustrated by her life on the farm and longs for some excitement and thrills.

After a scare from Mr Gulch and less-than-helpful advice from her guardians, a bump on the head transports her to a magical gay land of fairies, beasties and wicked old witches.

A colourful array of characters will be on hand to ensure Dorothy’s adventures along the yellow brick road are anything but straightforward.

Jenna has previously starred in Griffins shows Alison Wonderbra and Sweeney Todd, and her supporting cast for Friends of Dorothy include David Robinson as the scarecrow and Ben Jaggers as the lion and Joshua Thompson as the tin man.

With an hilarious script written by John O’Leary and Amy Wake, music by James Driver and choreography by Lynette Driver.

Friends of Dorothy takes place at the Luton Library Theatre from Thursday, January 31 to Saturday, February 9 (excluding Sunday and Monday) and prices range from £8 - £12.

To book your seats, call the Griffin Players box office on 07906 075455 or visit www.griffinplayers.co.uk. Strictly adults only.
