Luton dance company director Ami Henderson is so dedicated to encouraging young talent in Luton that she’s launching a brand new academy to train wannabe performers.

A-Stars Theatre Academy will start as a Saturday school at Bushmead Primary and will be aimed at six to 18-year-olds.

Entry is by audition – the first will take place on Saturday, January 18, before term begins on January 25.

Former Icknield High pupil Ami, 27, made her debut at the DLJ School of Dance, aged just four.

She said: “In my teenage years I took part in many local productions with Colin Smith Youth Musical Theatre.

“I started A-Stars Dance in 2009 because of my passion for the performing arts and the need to pass on my knowledge to the next generation of aspiring entertainers.

“There’s lots of talent to nurture and explore in Luton and I want to create the sort of fantastic memories I was lucky enough to experience as a child.”
A-Stars Theatre Academy will hold weekly classes in singing, dancing and acting with teachers from top professionals.
