Life long Elvis fan, historian and enthusiast, Alvin Printwhistle will have you reeling, rocking and a-rolling in the aisles when he presents his ultimate Elvis tribute at Luton Library Theatre on Friday, March 7.
Backed by The Trilogy Band, he will belt out all the old favourites that have kept The King at the forefront of popular music.
Alvin has been presenting his tribute act all over the world for more than two decades and is regarded as one of the finest in the business – thanks to his attention to detail, both visual and vocal.
His show is a must-see for true Elvis fans as well as anyone who just wants a good fun night out.
Alvin made his Elvis debut at the tender age of 16 at Great Yarmouth’s California Cliffs Holiday Park.
Playing a guitar given him by his parents for Christmas and singing Are You Lonesome Tonight? and Teddy Bear gave him the showbiz bug, although he laughingly admits now: “I sounded like a zoo burning down.”
He started off in a group called Capacity Crowd, then joined the Itsy Bitsy Band where his Elvis sector was always in huge demand.
“It became apparent that was my next step forward,” he said.
Alvin – the Ultimate Elvis Tribute was born in 1990.
In 2003 he was joined by the 18 piece Trilogy Band.
“It’s fun to do and and as I’ve been a fan since I was aged 12, it’s a great honour to play my hero three or four times a week,” he said.
> The Ultimate Elvis Tribute is at 7.30pm on Friday, March 7. Tickets cost £15 (£13 for concessions) and are available from the box office on 01582 878100.
