Luton Hoo Hotel in Bedfordshire is ending summer on a high with a series of events in September from sophisticated dinners to musical classics.

With its 18th century mansion house sitting in over 1,000 acres of parklands designed Capability Brown, Luton Hoo Hotel provides a fitting setting for an open air cinema set in the surroundings of the South Lake.

Musical lovers will be spoilt for choice with Grease showing on Thursday September 1 and cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show lighting up the screens on Sunday September 4. Tickets to both cinema events are £13 per person with screenings starting at 6.30pm.

Luton Hoo’s gourmet wine dinners continue on Thursday September 8, with a three-course wine pairing dinner hosted by Gianni Bertolino from Italian winery Tenuta Olim Bauda. On the menu are tempting autumn dishes such as roast fillet of beef with ox cheek croustade and poached white peach with textures of raspberry and brown sugar meringue. Tickets cost £75 n and include wine and canapés on arrival, three-course dinner and specially chosen paired wines.

And on Monday September 1, Heather White-Smith, past secretary to Winston Churchill, will be thrilling guests at Luton Hoo’s ladies’ luncheon with fascinating tales of her time working for the prime minister. The luncheon will begin at 12 noon with tickets costing £42.50 per person including a three-course set lunch of confit duck pressing with orange, pan-seared fillet of bream and a milk chocolate and praline dome.
