A street in Luton was cordoned off earlier by police after a suspected hand grenade was found.
A Beds Police spokesman said: "We are currently responding to reports that a suspected hand grenade has been found in Blaydon Road, Luton.
"Blaydon Road has been closed between Durham Road and Silecroft Road as a precaution, and an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team are in attendance."
The road has since re-opened.
