Car thieves picked the wrong vehicle last week after a fitted tracking device helped police trace its journey from London to Luton.

A Beds Police spokesman said: "The Met Police received a report around 4pm on August 27 that the vehicle had been taken from an address in Uxbridge and alerted us shortly after as the car had a tracker and was heading northbound on the M1.

"Our road policing officers intercepted the vehicle in Luton and three men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

"The three men arrested were dealt with by the Met Police.
