Luton golf centre to host charity event
The Kevin Duggan Golf Academy was started in 2005 by former publican Declan Duggan after his 19-year-old son was killed in the tragic accident.
It was set up to give disadvantaged and underprivileged children the chance to play the sport Kevin loved and developed in partnership with Luton Borough Council, with funding from the Ryder Cup European Development Trust.

Declan said: “The nine-hole course, designed by Ryder Cup player and BBC commentator Ken Brown, is in great shape. We’re fundraising for nine new artifical tee boxes as the originals, which lasted well over 10 years, need replacing.”
The event takes place on Friday, July 29 with breakfast and registration at 10am and a 12 noon shotgun start. There’s a barbecue, presentation and raffle after 4.30pm.
The cost is £150 for a four-ball team.
