Former Town winger Callum McManaman has labelled Luton a 'proper club' after it was announced he was leaving Kenilworth Road this morning.

The 29-year-old signed under previous boss Graeme Jones last summer, and made his full debut in the opening night 3-3 draw against Middlesbrough.

He went on to make 23 league appearances, 10 from the start, as it was from the bench where he made his most impact.

McManaman, who was man of the match in the 2008 FA Cup final for Wigan Athletic, scored four times, all of them coming in the final five minutes, including equalisers against Millwall and Preston, while his late strike paved the way for George Moncur to win it against his former Latics side.

After it was announced this morning that the winger's contract wasn't being renewed, writing on Twitter, McManaman said: "Some great memorys and a great achievement from everyone to stay up when everybody wrote us off.

"All the best luton proper club."
