Even so, she didn’t expect her duties to include tandem skydiving.

But on Sunday she and her partner Alistair Jackson, 43, took to the skies above Sibson Airfild in Peterborough and raised £1,175 for Rhys’ Rangers.

The charity supports CLIC Sargent for children with cancer and was named after her six-year-old godson Rhys Kiernan who was diagnosed with a brain tumour two years ago.

Mikala, of Borough Road, said: “He’s an extremely special little boy and and I am both honoured and privileged to be his godmother. He was a shining star throughout his illness and never stopped smiling.

“I’ve known his mum for years, we’re very close and our families spend a lot of time together.

“When Rhys was poorly it was a very tough emotional time and I was completely overhwelmed by how strong they were – and still are.”
She added: “Doing the skydive was an awesome and exhilirating experience and sharing it with my boyfriend was even better.

“But doing it for a charity whose amazing work I’ve seen firsthand really is out of this world.”
