Big names in new season at Grove Theatre

Big-name comedians, drama direct from some of the world’s most famous stages and entertainment aplenty for children are coming to the Grove Theatre, Dunstable.

The venue has announced details of its autumn season. There will be laughter from the likes of Sarah Millican, Andy Parsons and Milton Jones, while the Barnstormers Stand Up Comedy nights continue on selected Thursdays.

Skip down the yellow brick road with Dorothy and her gang to a magical land with The Wizard of Oz in August. With intensive tuition and direction from a skilled creative team, a talented cast of over 50 young people from the local area perform this spell-binding musical.

The theatre’s rich array of Live and Encore screenings includes the sold out, critically-acclaimed Coriolanus starring Tom Hiddleston and the brand new production of Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.

This season also introduces a brand new class for ages 18 months to four years. They are designed to help develop real learning out comes such as rhythm and timing, fine and gross motor skills, co-ordination and more.

More drama comes to the theatre with Absent Friends later in season. Tension brews steadily and sparks are set to fly in this Alan Ayckbourne comedy.

And before we know it, panto season will be upon us, with Cinderella. Blue’s Antony Costa takes the lead role of Prince Charming whilst Leslie Grantham EastEnders’ Dirty Den and Joshua Pascoe (East
Enders’ Ben Mitchell) frock up as the Ugly Sisters.
