Its next production is Forbidden Broadway, an off-Broadway cabaret-style revue sharply spoofing show tunes, characters and plots of contemporary and current Broadway and West End musicals.

Over the years it has also targeted famous musical theatre actors, writers, composers, directors, choreographers and producers.

The show stars 12 of the best actors and actresses on the local am dram scene, who will be changing in and out of costume at lightning speed as they sing songs such as More Miserables, Rant and I Enjoy Being A Cat.

Tickets cost £12 (plus booking fee) and are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/DAOS or by phone on 0333 666 3366.

Performances at Dunstable Rep’s Little Theatre run from October 6 to 10.

The next production takes place in June 2016, when the society presents Legally Blonde – The Musical, based on the hit comedy film.

The society will perform another film-turned-musical, Sister Act, in 2017, and later that year it’s time for something completely different – Monty Python’s Spamalot.

All three musicals will be performed at the Grove Theatre, Dunstable.
