The Bucks County Show kicks off on Thursday, August 28 at Weedon Park near Aylesbury, with dozens of activities for people of all ages.

The show offers free entry to children under five and it is hoped more families and young people will be attracted to the event, which includes The Kangaroo Kids Quad Bike Stunt Team, who are expected to wow the crowds with their bold tricks and death-defying stunts.

Of course everyone’s favourite event is back – where the sassiest, best-groomed and most beautiful will strut their stuff – the Sheep Show of course!

Visitors can have a taste of local produce ranging from hand-crafted beer to home-made biscuits at a variety of foodstalls. This year also includes a new cookery theatre where various cooking styles will be showcased in six slots of demonstrations.

Traditional horse showjumping will lend plenty of excitement to the day, and the cattle and sheep shows – which display some of the finest animals in the country – are becoming famous for their fun and humour, as well as their educational benefits.

Other entertainment in the main ring shall be music provided by the world-class RAF Halton Pipes and Drums, adding a touch of tradition to what is increasingly becoming a modern agricultural show.

A home and garden marquee will offer classes for children in baking, handicrafts and photography.

Adults can meanwhile find out about home-made wine, sloe gin, fruit liqueur, cordial, jam, baking, flowers and vegetables at specialised classes. This popular marquee opens to the public at 11am.

There will be over 200 trading stands on-site hosted by a variety of agricultural and leisure businesses. Prizes will be awarded to the best stands.

Elsewhere, visitors can be treated to the shopping marquee, with children’s booksellers, family photographers and chocolatiers all providing their services.
