Whether you’re thinking that by now he really should have put a ring on it, or that if you were a boy things would be a whole lot easier, a new comedy show coming to the Hat Factory next month may be just what you need.

After smash hit runs in London and Edinburgh, Luisa Omielan brings ‘What Would Beyoncé Do?’ to Luton on May 23. Featuring fabulous anecdotes, impromptu songs and a whirlwind of improv, The Telegraph described it as “about as funny as any comedy show needs to get”, and The Independent described the hero as “bold, brash and beautiful – comedy’s newest diva”.

The show centres on the contrast between real life for most 30-something women and the whirlwind of glitz, glamour and sell-out stadiums that is the pop diva’s existence. The show sees Omielan detailing how she’s moved back in with her mum after being dumped – how can she reconcile being a sassy Single Lady with the reality of heartbreak?

Having graduated from Salford University in 2005 with a degree in performing arts, she began performing stand-up in 2008 and has gigged extensively in the US as well as across the UK.

Described as a “brazen new talent” by The Guardian, the show received an extended run at London’s Soho Theatre and secured Omielan a best newcomer nomination at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

What Would Beyonce Do? is at the Hat Factory on Thursday May 23 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 from the box office – call 01582 878100 or book online at www.thehatfactory.org
