Come up and see Steve at The Stables

AUDIENCES are in for a real treat at The Stables as a whole raft of rock acts are set to shake the stage.

Perhaps the highlight of the week will be Friday’s much anticipated show from British music legend Steve Harley.

A prolific songwriter and lyricist, Steve has been touring for more than 30 years and shows no sign of slowing down.

With a setlist packed with hits including Judy Teen, Here Comes The Sun and the anthemic Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me), Steve’s gig seems certain to go off with a bang.

Keeping the rock royalty torch ablaze on Tuesday is the dynamic duo Chris Jagger (brother of Mick) and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Hart.

The pair, who have collaborated with a host of big names and once played for the Dalai Lama, will perform their unique blend of blues, folk, Americana, country, zydeco, cajun and western swing.

With a number of summer festival appearances in the pipeline, audiences will no doubt find these two in fine form.

Lighting up the stage on Wednesday will be awkwardly brilliant American artist Justin Townes Earle.

All angles and elbows, the boy from Nashville North has been quietly making a name for himself and picked up the Best New and Emerging Artist at the 2009 Americana Music Awards.

Winning the hearts of fans and critics by the day, Justin will now set his sights on charming an expectant crowd at The Stables. Rounding off the week with an explosive rock‘n’roll set featuring canons and a wall of amps will be AC/DC tribute act Live/Wire – who storm into town on Saturday night.

Both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras are included with two very different singers packing classics like Whole Lotta Rosie, Highway To Hell, Thunderstruck and Back In Black into a two-hour extravaganza, throwing in a few surprises for fans to savour!
