Comic on tour

A COMEDIAN from Toddington is featuring on Russell Cane’s new programme on Radio 2, starting this weekend.

Jeff Howe, 42, does singing, vocal impersonations and comedy, and will be one of the acts performing on the Whistlestop Tour show on Saturday night.

Jeff, who was born and raised in Luton, has worked in comedy since the age of 18, and his long career has included radio work in Norway, gigs in Spain and entertaining the troops in Germany.

Jeff said: “Doing Russell’s show was really cool. It was a very long day as it was recorded as a live show in front of an audience of 500 people so it had to be done to clockwork.

“It was all one take so you couldn’t go back and change anything and in that sense it was quite a lot of pressure but we all did a good job.

“I’ve done radio work before in Norway but this is the biggest radio show I’ve done in the UK so it was pretty exciting.”

The father of three describes his act as self-depreciating, observational comedy.

He said: “There were four other comics on the show and they were all absolutely brilliant. It was great.”
