Disco Inferno to set stage on fire

NONE of the cast would have been around in the 1970s but the name alone, Disco Inferno, brings back memories of nights at Dunstable’s California Ballroom listening to Heathwave, Hi Tension and the rest.

Now the era’s being revisited by the Tring Festival Company with a sensational musical being staged by their youth section at the Court Theatre Tring, from next Tuesday to Saturday (Sept 13-17).

Set in 1976 in the ‘Disco Inferno’ nightclub, the show centres on Jack, who sells his soul to the devil -Lady Marmalade - in order to become a famous pop singer. Packed full of hit songs including Boogie Nights, Hot Stuff, Crocodile Rock and more, it is the ultimate seventies musical. Friday night is a gala performance with prizes for theatre goers with the best fancy dress.

The cast, all aged between 15 and 22, have spent the last 12 weeks rehearsing hard, developing their acting singing and dance talents with the support of a professional production team.

Kike Schafer makes her directorial return, following the success of the 2008 TFC youth show Little Shop Of Horrors. A professional costume designer, she is thrilled to be directing such a glitzy show.
