Inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi, The Colour of Time by Luton Creates will take place on Sunday August 9.

The free outdoor event will include opportunities for people to take part in the dance performance, help at the event or just come along to enjoy the fun. Dance workshops will be held in the lead up to the event and anyone can register to take part. Organisers say these dances are easy to learn and no previous dance experience is required.

Karen Perkins, director of arts and museums at Luton Culture (Luton Creates’ consortium lead partner), said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in Luton to get together and create what we hope will be an amazing and memorable event.”

Luton Creates is one of 21 national Creative People and Places (CPP) programmes funded through Arts Council England to enable more people to engage with and be inspired by the arts.

The first free dance workshop took place last week and continue tomorrow (Friday July 10) and on July 16, 24 and 30, at The Hat Factory from 6pm to 9pm. Participants will be introduced to the dances and have an opportunity to register to take part in the event.
