Claire Devlin, (right) a 40 year old nurse and mum of two from South Luton, and 21 year old Adam Weston from Stopsley, who works for Luton Borough Council have won four hours’ worth of private golf tuition session with Luton Hoo Hotel and Spa’s PGA Professional, Craig Ferris.

“At Luton Hoo Hotel we want to change the perception of golf to show that it is a fun, inclusive sport which anyone can learn to play,” says Craig. “Golf is enjoyable and challenging but learning to play isn’t always seen as easily accessible, which is a shame as anyone can be a great golfer, regardless of age, gender or previous experience.”

Claire said,“I’ve wanted to learn to play for years but have only ever played crazy golf! Every morning when I walk my dog I see people on the golf course and it looks like great fun. Even though I may have left it a little late in life I will give it a go, because it’s better late than never!”

Adam Weston was surprised to hear of his win. He said: “As somebody who has been hacking away at golf for a year without any success, I would thoroughly enjoy having the many flaws in my game addressed. More than anything, though, I’d like to be chosen so that I can start to beat my stepdad!”

In addition to the private tuition session with Craig, Claire and Adam will also win a six month golf membership worth over £500, courtesy of Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa. The membership includes fantastic benefits such as complimentary guest passes, room and restaurant discounts and access to a championship golf course.
