Lennon and Hendrix launch new art gallery

A NEW art gallery opens in Ridgemont this Saturday with a two-day exhibition showcasing paintings and prints by John Lennon, Ronnie Wood, Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix as well as original prints by the masters Chagall, Dali, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir and Utrillo.

Ridgmont Fine Art will opens its doors with its first exhitibion Masters & Musicians. A lot of well known contemporary musicians and singers are renowned for their skill with paint and canvass. Paintings and drawings by John Lennon, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, the jazz great Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix will go on show at the High Street gallery.

Among the classic artists is a female nude by Renoir dating from the early part of the 20th century. There is also an attractive signed Matisse etching from the group he made in 1914 depicting his friend’s young daughter, Emma. There are also a few memorable signed works by Salvador Dali – an acclaimed artist always in demand.
