Motown greats bringing hits from the decades

The Royal British Legion in Thrift Road, Heath and Reach continues to bring first class entertainment to the area.

This Saturday they feature an evening of Soul and Motown starring duo After The Break. The musical twosome are Roy Carter and female vocalist Nya King.

Roy has had a varied life in the music world from producing to writing to performing. Starting out as guitarist with Grammy nominated and five million selling album vocal group Heatwave, bass player with The Foundations and guitarist with The Drifters, to producing the number three chart hit for D.C. Lee ‘See The Day’ to running a TV music production company that performed, arranged and prepared music for such greats as Steve Wonder, Cher and Barry Manilow to name a few.

Nya has been singing on the UK scene providing back-up vocals for Precious Wilson, Heatwave, and having featured appearances on the same bill as ’60s and ’70s legends, The Tremeloes, The Searchers and as lead vocalist with The Three Ronnettes.
