Cathy Price, 55, decided to take up the challenge of visiting all the Red Lion pubs across the country in April 2011.

She said: “I was in a Red Lion pub and I noticed a sign that said it was the most common pub name. I was wandering if anyone had ever completed the challenge of visiting all of them across the country and no body has.

“I was fascinated that no one had tried to complete the challenge so decided to try it, I started in April 2011 and have now visited 502 of the 622 Red Lion pubs.

Ms Price said: “We had dinner in Studham which was delicious and Gary made us very welcome.

“I had the best welcome so far on the Quest as I walked through the door at Sundon, the whole pub applauded and Peter, the landlord bought our drinks. The villages of Bedfordshire are lovely!
