Rock, reggae and soul band headline festival

Bob Marley, Simple Minds, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Aretha Franklin are among the diverse artists who influence successful band Harripaul, who are headlining a charity festival in Dunstable this weekend.

Combining rock, reggae and classic soul, the four-piece band will perform live at Reason to Rock, which takes place at the Wheatsheaf pub on Saturday (August 29) in aid of PACE, which supports children with disabilities.

Founded on the talents of Jean Harripaul from Luton, Charles Bender of Dunstable and Paul Little and Avi Ben Ezra, both from London, Harripaul enjoyed strong sales with their first album, Live your Life, which was released in 2006, and their most recent album, Swings and Roundabouts, has also been doing well. They have now been signed to Downtown Artists to record two new singles, Living in This World and Should I.

Jean (guitar/vocal) first found solo success under the name of Roger Jean and toured extensively with Roachford and The Christians. He and Charles (drums/percussion), who has been a session drummer for various bands for ten years and appeared on the recent Channel 4 documentary The Austistic Gardener, now teach music to children with learning disabilities. Paul (bass) and Avi (keyboard/song writer/producer) have both enjoyed success as musicians on the London music scene.
