The Mousetrap by Dame Agatha Christie will be at Dunstable’s Grove Theatre next week as part of its diamond anniversary tour.

Yet she and original producer Peter Saunders didn’t think the murder mystery would run much longer than a year.

But it’s still captivating audiences across the globe with its clever plot. superb writing and shocking final twist.

Dame Agatha has created an atmosphere of shuddering suspense and an intricate plot where dark deeds lurks round every corner.

The scene is set when a group of people gathered in a country house are cut off by snow and discover, to their horror, there is a murderer in their midst.

Who can it be?

One by one the characters reveal their sordid past until at the last nerve-shredding moment the identity and the motive are revealed.

It’s edge-of-the-seat stuff and audiences are requested never to reveal who dunnit.

Sixty productions of The Mousetrap have been licensed world-wide to mark its 60th anniversary. It will be seen as far afield as Australia, China, Korea, Turkey, South Africa, Russia, the Czech Republic, France, Venezuela and Canada.
