All aboard the dreamboat for romance and rock ‘n’ roll in swinging 60s musical

Sixties teen idol Mark Wynter returns to his musical roots in Dreamboats and Petticoats, helping to bring to life the decade that made him famous.

He plays the father of wannabe popstar Bobby in the hugely popular rock ‘n’ roll musical, which features musical numbers including Let’s Dance, Shaking All Over, Only Sixteen, Runaround Sue, Let It Be Me, Let’s Twist Again and many more from the golden era of pop and rock.

In the show, young musicians Norman and Bobby are pit against each other in a songwriting competition at their local youth club, but their rivalry spills into their love lives too as they fight for the affections of gorgeous Sue and shy but talented Laura.

Emotions run high as the drama unfolds, and with the show featuring more hits than a jukebox, it makes for a fantastic night at the theatre.

As if the show, written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather and the Dreamboats and Petticoats sequel, Save The Last Dance For Me, weren’t enough on its own, there is an extra special treat for audiences watching this production.

Every night of the tour, for the finale of the show, Mark will step out of character to perform all of his hits.

Mark has never performed in any 60s revival tours before, having concentrated on his acting career for years, but at the request of friend and fan Bill Kenwright, a producer of the show, for the first time, he will be performing his 60s hits on stage.

It’s set to be the cherry on the top of the sensational cake that is the fantastic Dreamboats tour.

The show has received rave reviews from critics and been seen by more than two million people since it opened in 2009.
