The group will perform the play, Duets, at the end of the week and it follows on from the success of performing
the classic sitcom, Fawlty Towers.

Written by award-winning playwright Peter Quilter, this chaotic comedy features four one-act plays, each featuring a different couple at a crucial point in their lives.

Jonathan and Wendy are on a blind date and hoping to get it right this time, even though they have never got it right before.

Barrie isn’t interested in women, but that’s not going to stop Janet turning on the charm.

Bobby and Shelley are on holiday in Spain to finalise their divorce, while drowning in cocktails.

Angela is panicking as she prepares to marry for the third time amidst a barrage of bad omens and with her brother Toby around to help or hinder.

Although the couples are all very different, they are linked by themes of romantic attachment and the search for happiness, trepidation at crucial moments, and generally too much alcohol.

Director Bob Jones said: “I’m sure audiences will enjoy laughing at the sometimes chaotic world of love depicted in these four comical plays.

“We’ve certainly had plenty of laughs in rehearsals.

“Plus, as an added surprise we’ve added a few interesting musical touches to the evening.”

Duets will be performed at the Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre between Thursday October 1 and Saturday, October 3 and performances starts at 8pm each night.

Tickets for the show are £10.50 for adults and £9.50 for concessions.

They can be bought by visiting www.lbdg.org.uk or alternatively, through the theatre box office or by calling 0300 300 8125.
