DAOS on tune for The Sound of Music

One of the most popular musicals of all time comes to the stage of The Grove Theatre when the Dunstable Amateur Operatic Society (DAOS) presents their eagerly anticipated production of The Sound of Music.

Tickets for the company’s productions are often snapped up within days of release with them playing to packed houses. DAOS has become a real success story for the venue and they attract performers from the whole district.

Once a year they put on a big musical and they don’t come any bigger than this. The film version with Julie Andrews scooped five Oscars while the original Broadway show nabbed a Tony.

The story tells of a rather rebellious postulant nun who is sent to be the governess for seven children of a recently widowed, war-hero navy captain.

The songs include Edelweiss, My Favorite Things, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, Do-Re-Mi, and the title song The Sound of Music and its a bet you’ll be singing along with the cast.

The Sound Of Music runs from October 18-20 with a matinee on the last day. For tickets call the box office 01582 602080 or go online www.grovetheatre.co.uk
