EastEnders stars in Grove panto

THE Grove is second out of the blocks locally to announce casting for its mega Christmas panto, Jack And The Beanstalk. Jack is an enchanting tale of magic beans, giants, heroes, villains and of course the lovable Daisy the Cow.

The villain of this year’s glittering extravaganza be played by Don Gilet who most recently starred in Eastenders as Lucas Johnson. Don, who is rumoured to live in Dunstable, is no stranger to television having starred as DS Nicky Cole in the BBC series 55 Degrees North. Other television appearances include Casualty, Holby City, Silent Witness, Cutting It, The Bill and Doctor Who.

Television star Gemma Bissex (Clare Devine in Hollyoaks and Clare Bates, stepdaughter of Nigel Bates, in Eastenders) is the princess who will be joined by children’s TV legend Postman Pat who will be dropping in to deliver a special guest appearance.

Pantomime favourites Malcolm Lord (Rainbow’s Bungle) and Carl Johns (who returns to Dunstable after playing Smee in The Grove’s 2007 Peter Pan), both return as Simple Simon and Dame Trott.
