Jaymi Hensley, who found fame on X Factor in 2012 with boyband Union J, performed many times with Phoenix Players when he was growing up in Luton.

His mum, Jackie Hensley, is also a member of the amateur dramatics group and is directing their new show.

Musical Moments is one of Phoenix Players’ most popular productions, an all-singing, all-dancing show for all the family.

The last Musical Moments show was three years ago and this is the company’s third version with a brand new programme.

It includes songs from everyone’s favourite films and shows, with everything from Les Miserables and Mary Poppins to Annie, West Side Story and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Phoenix Players secretary Di Newman said: “Jaymi has performed many times with Phoenix and visits us whenever he is able. Jaymi started his acting and singing career with Phoenix and is also, obviously, a great supporter of his mum and has promised her that he will be along to see the show on one of the performances so we are working as hard as we can to show him where he got his professional attitude from.”
