This evening of two one-act plays will intertwine comedy, farce, costume drama and a concoction of misunderstandings on and off stage.

In a very British “Dress Rehearsal”, royal and historical characters are preparing to go on stage to baffle the audience and resident author of the play but as usual, nothing is quite as it seems.

Confusion and mix ups will portray a slightly unusual Lady Britannia and Henry VIII, there is more to them than meets the eye.

After the interval you’ll witness the annual general meeting of a local drama group that faces closure. Their chairperson makes a controversial proposal and members have a final attempt at stardom but will they succeed?

Performances of The Dress Rehearsal by David Tristram and Last Tango in Totternhoe by Alec Baron will take place on Friday and Saturday (June 20 and 21) at Totternhoe Lower School hall at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £9 and they include a ploughman’s supper, bring your own drinks. Box office 01582 603287.

All proceeds of the interval raffle will be donated to Help for Heroes.
