Urban dreams from the 70s

Eastern Angles Theatre Company presents their acclaimed Parkway Dreams at The Hat Factory at 7.30pm.

Created by EastEnders writer Kenny Emson, Parkway Dreams tells a poignant story of a London overspill family with a fascinating and funny insight into the development of a typical English new town, which was inspired by the city of Peterborough.

With a quirky mix of oral history interviews, references of TV shows such as Crackerjack and The Clangers, the music of Abba and The Kinks and tales of city council shenanigans, this unique musical play aims to provide an entertaining and nostalgic picture of what 1970s and 1980s life was like.

Eastern Angles is the regional touring theatre company for East Anglia. It has a national reputation for producing high-quality, new writing with a regional flavour. Based in Ipswich, the company has been touring professional theatre productions into the towns and villages of East Anglia since 1982. They have also staged productions at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at London’s Bush Theatre.

Parkway Dreams will be at The Hat Factory on Thursday 22 October, 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 and £8 concessions and are available from www.thehatfactory.org or the box office on 01582 878100. The production is suitable for ages 12 and above.
