Veteran funksters to turn up the heat for a boogie night

The first Cali-R night of the new year kicks off on Friday, February 14 when promoter and DJ Sid Hudson hosts a soul, Tamla, funk and reggae night at the United Services Club in High Street South, Dunstable.

Sid will also be breaking new ground on Saturday, March 29 when he takes Cali-R to Venue 360, formerly the Vauxhall Club, in Gypsy Lane, Luton, for a night featuring his ever-popular blend of sounds.

And to round off the first half of the year, he has booked Heatwave for a welcome return to Dunstable on Saturday, May 3 at Dunstable Conference Centre, High Street North.

The veteran funksters will be including their favourite hits, such as Boogie Nights, Always And Forever, The Groove Line and Mind-Blowing Decisions.

Tickets for Venue 360 go on sale from February 14 and will be available at £9 from Clowns, Vinyl Revelations or online.

Sale date for Heatwave tickets will be announced in due course.

Later in the summer, Cali-R will be returning to Dunstablians Rugby Club, Bidwell Park, Houghton Regis.

The rugby club will be reintroducing marquee events and Sid Hudson and Cali-R are pencilled in for one night, on a date to be announced.

Dunstablians plan to use the marquee for a variety of events in the off-season, including commercial exhibitions.
