Social and creative activity for adults with learning difficulties, engaging in all types of art and craft work such as painting in acrylics, papier mache, salt dough, cross stitch, rug making etc.

Unique, the Dunstable nightclub in High Street North, hosts Out On The Floor, on Friday, September 4, a night of tunes aimed straight at the dance floor, featuring classic old soul, 60s R&B, Northern soul, 60s garage, British beat/indie and masses of Motown. Irish folk music hero Joe Giltrap will be performing at Luton Library Theatre at 7.30pm The show, called “Joe Giltrap – Folk Troubadour”, will provide audiences with a range of Celtic folk songs from traditional to contemporary, all performed in his own distinctive style.
Joe has an acclaimed career spanning over four decades and was a founder member of Irish Mist. 
He is one of the few people ever to have recorded with American folk legend Tom Paxton and is a regular contributor to the music reviews for national paper The Irish Post. Joe has been described as “the thinking man’s Celtic musician” by Nick Dalton in the Sunday Express, as “a magnificent singer with a warm and passionate voice” by Massimo Ferro in Italian publication La Voce, and as playing a “wonderfully diverse mix of Celtic roots” by Time Out.

The Stables, Wavendon hosts Voice of the Heart: Tribute to Karen Carpenter at 8pm. Karen Carpenter created an catalogue of hit songs that are still played daily on radio stations throughout the UK. This show celebrates the music of The Carpenters and will feature classic tunes including Once More, Goodbye To Love, Close To You and Only Yesterday as well as country favourites Top Of The World, Sweet Sweet Smile and Jambalaya, with vocals from Carole Gordon and music from the Blue Jeans Band and Singers. ate: Sunday 6 September, 8pm.
