Colin Blunstone is best know as a member of pop and rock band the Zombies, and also for his work with prog rock legends the Alan Parsons Project.

He has just returned to the UK following a barnstorming two-month tour of the US with the former, and will perform at the venue on Tuesday, June 3.

This time around Colin will be singing with his solo band as they take gig-goers on a musical journey through his 45-year solo career.

They will play familiar hits, lesser known numbers and tracks from Colin’s latest album On The Air Tonight.

The show will also include light-hearted stories about a lifetime spent touring and on the road.

Rock magazine Mojo had a lot of praise for the latest album, the 11th of Colin’s solo career.

It said: “Of late there’s been a new appreciation of Blunstone and the voice on ‘She’s Not There’ to ‘I Dont Believe In Miracles’.

“This outing doesn’t detract. Opener ‘Turn Your Heart Around’ is classic, anthemic rock given meaning by Blunstone’s nuanced edge; the guitar break alone (Tom Toomey) is so soaringly perfect, you know you’re in the hands of genius.

“The title track, a deft soul ballad, is classy, too.”

In the past year Colin has been nominated for the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall Of Fame with The Zombies, inducted into the Goldmine Hall Of Fame with the Alan Parsons Project and named as Vocalist of the Year in the Mundell Music Awards.

This will be one of a select few dates where Colin will perform before he embarks on further solo recordings and with the Zombies.

Tickets are £20. For more information see www.stables.org/Whats_on or contact the box office on 01908 280800.
