Maria Collins, the owner of Home Instead Senior Care, employs a team of CAREGivers providing companionship-based care in the Luton, Dunstable, Ampthill, Flitwick, Leighton Buzzard, and surrounding towns and villages.

“We are very keen to implement the Care Certificate,” said Maria. “Home Instead as a company already implements the most rigorous standards in recruitment and training but it important that standards are raised across the industry.

“Care is often seen as a job that people fall into, as a stop-gap and not as a career. We see caring as a career choice, with personal development and training as a key issue.”

The Care Certificate is being introduced in March 2015, in the wake of the The Cavendish Review into healthcare assistants and support workers in the NHS and social care settings. It found that preparation of healthcare assistants and social care support workers for their roles within care settings was inconsistent.

Home Instead Luton and Central Bedfordshire is based at Jansel House, Hitchin Road, Luton, is always looking to recruit caring, compassionate people and train them as CAREGivers. They offer qualifications for those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills.
