Engage Weddings.co.uk, a wedding planning website, was awarded the Best Online Regional Wedding Suppliers Directory at this year's awards.

Becca Pountney, founder of Engage Weddings, launched the company in summer 2016 to support wedding businesses in the local area, starting out as a networking event, by 2017 it had turned into a wedding planning website.

"I created Engage Weddings as a way to show case the talent and creativity we have in the wedding industry, on our doorstep. If you find an amazing wedding idea on our site, I can put you in touch with the person who created it, they will live just down the road.

Having left a career working in television and radio, Becca now runs her wedding blog from her home office in Bedfordshire whilst juggling two small children.

Becca added: "It’s been a great piece of good news to win an award during lockdown, the wedding industry is really suffering right now, but Engage Weddings is doing all we can to support all of our wedding business owners, and help them keep their business visible online during lockdown.

"The pandemic has encouraged businesses in this industry to be more creative, we are doing tips for virtual weddings, gatherings in gardens, online hair and beauty tutorials."

The Global Wedding Awards was launched to recognise the extraordinary work of companies all over the world who shine brightest.

Lux Life Awards Coordinator Jazmin Collins said: “Currently, the wedding industry is facing an unprecedented challenge, though it is one that I know we can power through and emerge stronger on the other side.
