Celebrating 60 years of providing access to affordable, quality housing – and a lot more – Squared

60 years ago Squared set out to address the lack of quality, affordable housing in Luton. Today they continue to provide this service but far more besides. As well as a range of accommodation Squared have a number of other services, such as Cleaning and Gardening Squared and Purposeful Employment Squared.

Transforming lives as well as spaces

Cleaning and Gardening Squared provides both high quality services as well as training and employment for people who might otherwise have limited opportunities.

The service began in 2017 with the aim of helping to transform lives as well as spaces. Working to help maintain Squared accommodation inside and out while also offering services externally to local landlords, estate managers as well as other local organisations.

Squared are proud of the service options they provide at Cleaning and Gardening Squared, such as graffiti removal, deep property cleaning including furniture and window cleaning, carpet and hard floor cleaning as well as garden clearance and maintenance. This range of services allows them to cover a variety of needs for their own properties and external contracts.

For Squared a high-quality service also means offering a green service, utilising environmentally friendly products to make sure Squared do their bit to help the world be a greener place and reduce their carbon footprint.

It also provides the opportunity for Squared to transform lives by providing employment and training for people who are struggling to find employment elsewhere. They’ve found that providing employment and training opportunities has helped some Squared customers transform their lives and fits perfectly into Squared’s vision to inspire lives.

Purposeful Employment focuses on employment with prospects and job satisfaction including self-employment, business start-up advice and support with finding a career which pays a real living income.

Squared believe in creating employment opportunities for their customers that are more than ‘just jobs’. Squared believe in creating employment opportunities that are ‘purposeful’. Employment which gives their customers lifelong self-esteem, that in turn will lead to a better, healthier outlook on life.

Purposeful Employment provides a customer-centred service that provides individual support for each customer, pragmatic advice which enables the customers to become more independent. For some customers this can mean supporting people back into education and achieving more qualifications, for others it can mean support finding employment to build experience and provide an income to take the first step to their longer-term ambitions.
